Silver Park in Alliance was bathed in red, white and blue on July 4 as the city celebrated America’s birthday. A huge crowd of Carnation City-area residents enjoyed music, games and the music of the John Hampu Band before fireworks lit up the sky at dusk. A group of food trucks and vendors sold various types of food during the event, with many enjoying icy treats on the hot night. Among the vendors were some community groups that raise funds for their programming with sales, including the Friends of the Parks’ pizza booth and Homeworth Lions’ lemon shakes and funnel cakes.
