The National Weather Service says widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop late Thursday afternoon into the evening.

Some of these storms could bring damaging wind gusts up to 80 miles per hour, large hail and isolated tornadoes.

Heavy rain is possible too with anywhere from an inch to 2 inches in some spots.

Minor flash flooding is expected where the rainfall persists.

The National Storm Prediction Center says Northeast Ohio is at an “enhanced” risk − a Level 3 out of five − for severe storms.

After high temperatures in the 70s on Thursday, the passage of a strong cold front will bring chilly highs in the 40s on Friday.

It will be unseasonably cold again on Saturday with highs in the 40s before rebounding to the 50s on Sunday and the 60s by Monday.
