A woman in her 20s was killed Monday night in a head-on crash on Scottsville Road in Chili, authorities said.
The two-vehicle crash happened around 6:45 p.m. when a southbound truck attempted to pass another vehicle and collided with a northbound vehicle, according to Lt. Andrew Tschorke of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Victim pronounced dead at scene
The driver of the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
A passenger in the same vehicle suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Other driver cited
The two people in the southbound truck sustained minor injuries, the sheriff’s office said. The truck driver was issued several traffic tickets.
Road closed, investigation ongoing
A stretch of Scottsville Road between Morgan and Mile Wood roads was closed for several hours Monday evening while deputies investigated the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
