The National Weather Service said the Mid-Hudson Valley’s weekend will open with a mix of storms and sun, before skies turn completely sunny during the second half of the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, Aug. 8 will be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s in Dutchess and Ulster counties. Orange and Sullivan counties will have partly sunny skies, with highs in the upper 80s in Orange County and the lower 80s in Sullivan County.
However, there is a 30%-40% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m in all four counties. Less than 1/10 of an inch of rain is expected, but as usual higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.
A 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms continues until about 8 p.m on Aug. 8, with a slight chance of showers continuing from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. in Dutchess, Ulster and Sullivan counties.
Otherwise, the night of Aug. 8 will be partly cloudy in all four counties, with lows in the upper 60s in Dutchess, Ulster and Orange counties, and the mid-60s in Sullivan County.
Aug. 9 will be sunny in all four counties, with highs in the upper 80s in Dutchess and Ulster counties, the mid-80s in Orange County and the low 80s in Sullivan County.
The night of Aug. 9 will be mostly clear in all four counties, with lows in the mid-60s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and the low 60s in Sullivan County.
