Vote for Section V's Girls Athlete of the Week for May 18-24 presented by Faber Builders

It’s time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Faber Builders Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for May 18-24. The players’ credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Thursday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Friday morning.

The nominees are chosen by our sports reporters. If you would like to call attention to an athlete’s performance to be considered for the nomination, please email sports@democratandchronicle.com by 7 p.m. each Sunday. All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

Camryn Adrid

Victor lacrosse player had six goals in the Blue Devils’ quarterfinal win against Spencerport. The senior is now up to 51 goals this season.

Jessie Crye

Avon softball player struck out 16 batters in a two-hit shutout, and had three hits and an RBI, in an 8-0 win against Sodus in the Class B2 quarterfinals.

Maci Mueller

Canandaigua lacrosse player and Syracuse commit picked up four goals and three assists as the Gray Wolves defeated Mercy in the section quarterfinals.

Sophia Puccia

A senior on the Penfield flag football team, who threw 6 passes for touchdowns and ran for 4 touchdowns during two wins for the Patriots, the Section V Class A tournament final and semifinal.

Lola Rivera

Northstar softball player recorded 18 strikeouts in her team’s 2-1 win over Alfred-Almond in the Class D1 quarterfinals.

Lily Rowe

Livonia-Avon-Geneseo lacrosse player was credited with nine goals and one assist in her team’s sectional win over Brockport. Rowe now has 60 goals, which ranks tied for seventh in Section V.

Lydia Sciallo

Penn Yan outdoor track and field team member threw a discus 124 feet-8 inches during the Wayne-Finger Lakes League Championships, the fourth-longest distance in Section V this spring.

Lauren Twist

Wayne lacrosse player scored with less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to lift the Eagles to an 11-10 win over Mynderse-Romulus-Waterloo in the Class C quarterfinals on Saturday.

Kylie Wilson

LeRoy softball player went 5-for-6 with two home runs, two RBIs and four runs in the Oatkan Knights’ Class B2 17-6 quarterfinal win over Gananda-Marion.
