It’s time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.
Your vote will determine who will be the Faber Builders Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for April 6-12. The players’ credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Thursday morning.
The nominees are chosen by our sports reporters. If you would like to call attention to an athlete’s performance to be considered for the nomination, please email sports@democratandchronicle.com by 7 p.m. each Sunday. All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

Shaye Angelo
Honeoye Falls-Lima girls lacrosse senior recorded a career-high 17 draw controls, plus four goals and three assists, in Saturday’s win. The Duke University commit has double-digit draw control totals in three of the Cougars’ four games.
Hannah Carpenter
Brockport softball pitcher recorded eight Ks and allowed one earned run in seven innings, as the Blue Devils defeated Honeoye Falls-Lima.
Camryn DuBose
Fairport goals lacrosse player posted one goal and a career-high eight assists in the Red Raiders’ win against Webster Thomas on Thursday. DuBose already has 18 assists in four games this spring, after posting 27 all last season.
Emma LaBour
Midlakes softball pitcher recorded 16 Ks, and allowed two hits and no runs in a shutout over Red Jacket on Friday. LaBour added a triple, double, two RBIs and four runs at the plate.
Lydia McKay
Gananda/Marion softball player recorded her 400th career strikeout in a win against East Rochester on Friday, then recorded 11 Ks in Saturday’s victory against Clyde-Savannah.
Zoey Overslaugh
Midlakes girls lacrosse player recorded her 100th career goal in a game against Wayne on Wednesday. She also had five goals and two assists in the Screaming Eagles’ win against Aquinas on Monday.
Emma Rascoe
Webster Schroeder flag football quarterback, a senior who helped the Warriors win a state championship last spring, had 14 touchdown passes during two runaway wins. Rascoe finished with 348 yards of total offense during a 54-20 win April 8, then threw seven passes for touchdowns again the next day, as she completed 23 of 33 throws for 239 yards. None of her 60 passes in the two games were intercepted.
Lola Rivera
Northstar Christian softball had a perfect week in the circle with three wins, while totaling 40 strikeouts in 14 1/3 innings pitched. That includes only two hits against. On Friday, Rivera tossed a complete game one-hitter with 20 strikeouts against Wheatland-Chili. At the plate, Rivera finished with six hits, 10 RBIs and a home run in those three contests.
Anabelle Ruffell
Wayne girls lacrosse senior finished with five goals and four assists in a win against Section III’s Jordan-Elbridge on Saturday. Ruffell also had six draw controls.
