Entering the home stretch of regular-season play, coaches have nominated six athletes for lohud Ice Hockey Player of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital.

He joined the list of previous winners Lucas Guggenheimer of Byram Hills, Anthony Ruggiero of Suffern, Zach Yoon of Byram Hills, Patrick Vaughan of the BYSNS, Winston Speros of Pelham, Hank Hearon of Fox Lane and Cam White of Pelham.

This week’s nominees and their accomplishments during the period of Feb. 2-8 are listed below.

You may vote for as many of them as you like and vote as many times as you like. But the poll will close at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will be announced on lohud sports social media.

JC DiNapoli, ETBE/New Rochelle

The sophomore goalie from Eastchester put on a show with outstanding anticipation, focus and puck control during two 2-1 setbacks. DiNapoli kept his team in both games, stopping a combined 61 shots in the losses to Pelham and White Plains, the latter in overtime.

Jordan Millar, BYSNS

The senior defenseman from Somers was huge on both ends of the ice during the Bisons’ 6-5 overtime win over Horace Greeley/John Jay-Cross River. He had a goal and three assists, blocked seven shots and had five hits.

Corbyn Pozo, White Plains

The sophomore goalie had multiple big stops while recording two overtime wins last week. He stopped 28 shots in a 4-3 win over rival Stepinac and had 26 saves in a 2-1 win over ETBE/New Rochelle.

Vin Tinelli, Suffern

The senior center played much bigger than the scoresheets might indicate as the Mounties went 2-1 with wins over Pawling and Byram Hills. Tinelli recorded one goal but had huge games on the forecheck, was integral on breakouts and played shutdown defense.

Matt Veteri, Pelham

The speedy senior forward’s ability to put the puck in the net through the smallest openings was on full display as, using both wrist shots and snap shots, he scored all five Pelican goals in a 5-2 win over Scarsdale.

Leon Zhou, Scarsdale

The sophomore forward had a big offensive day with a hat trick and an assist as Scarsdale blanked Pearl River 9-0.
