Two suspects charged with man's 2019 murder in Kingston

Two men were arrested May 20 and charged with the 2019 murder of a man in the City of Kingston.

Kingston city police announced the arrests of Wilbur Reese, 55, of Monticello, and Dushan Wilson, 37, of Albany.

They are accused of killing D.J. Thomas on Oct. 24, 2019.

Reese and Wilson were charged with second-degree murder, a felony.

City police said state police, City of Albany police and the Ulster County District Attorney’s office assisted with the arrests.

Reese and Wilson were arraigned in Kingston City Court and sent without bail to the Ulster County jail, pending further court action.

Wilson’s attorney, Joey Drillings of the Ulster County Office of the Public Defender, could not immediately be reached for comment. The name of Reese’s attorney was not immediately available.

Kingston city police did not provide any other details about the circumstances of Thomas’ murder, but they said the investigation is continuing.
