CANANDAIGUA, NY — As the massive storm that blanketed the Finger Lakes and much of the East Coast with snow begins to ease in places, a travel advisory is in place for all of Ontario County.
The advisory will remain in effect until further notice, according to Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione.
Cirencione on Jan. 26 lowered the no unnecessary travel advisory issued Sunday. Motorists are urged to continue taking caution on the roads, however.
As the day continues, winds are expected to increase, which may cause blowing and drifting snow and result in periods of reduced visibility and continued difficult travel conditions, Cirencione said.
Road conditions and weather developments will be closely monitored, Cirencione said, and the advisory will be updated as conditions change.
