Two other wrestlers from Section 4 are No. 2 seeds: Tayah Beach of Spencer-Van Etten/Candor at 120 pounds and Carmen Bishop of Groton at 132. Bishop placed third at 126 at last year’s state tournament and Beach took fourth at 120.

The tournament will be held Thursday, Feb. 26 at MVP Arena in Albany. Preliminaries are set for a 9:30 a.m. start, with consolation finals and championship finals to begin at 5:15 p.m.

Tickets

Single-session tickets are $24.90 through ticketmaster, com or $16 at the box office. Tickets for both sessions are $44.35 through Ticketmaster or $32 at the box office.

The NYSPHSAA advises people purchasing tickets at the box office to allow extra time because of the possibility of long lines for walk-up sales.
