These local softball stars set Section V records that still stand today

Records are meant to be broken, but there’s a pretty high bar when it comes to Section V softball.

The New York state record books are flush with Hornell-area athletes who soar on the diamond. Programs like Wayland-Cohocton, Wellsville and Prattsburgh have many players atop the record books in multiple statistical categories. Others, like Bolivar-Richburg and Friendship-Scio, are represented by singular forces like Jordan Ingalls and Navaeh Ross.

Over the next few months, current players can shake up the all-time lists.

The NYSPHSAA keeps a running list of record-holders across over a dozen categories. To be included, school districts are required to submit a record reporting form.
