A 19-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in a crash Friday in the Town of Hopewell, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Crash happened on State Route 488
Deputies responded to the area of State Route 488 and Archer Road for a report of a crash involving a motorcycle.
Investigators determined that a westbound driver attempted to make a left turn into a residential driveway and failed to yield to an eastbound motorcycle, causing the collision.
Rider taken to hospital
The motorcyclist was transported by Canandaigua Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.
Citation issued
Deputies issued the driver a traffic citation for failure to yield the right of way.
A portion of State Route 488 was closed for about an hour while deputies investigated the crash.
