Take a look inside the old section of historic Rockland County Courthouse in New City

Designed by Hirons and Dennison of New York City and built in 1929, this is the third structure to stand as the Rockland County Courthouse.

Built in the Beaux-Arts/Art Deco style with Indiana Limestone and bronze, the courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The exterior steps guide you to wrought iron gates that guard the front doors. The lobby, with its gold inlay mosaic on the ceiling, large windows, grand staircase and towering light fixtures, leads you to several original courtrooms, one being named after Thurgood Marshall.
