New York State Police arrested a Steuben County man on 86 felony charges following what authorities say was a “comprehensive investigation” into child exploitation.

Acting on a Superior Court warrant, troopers July 18 charged Kyle Marshall, 23, of Prattsburgh with 43 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony, and 43 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony, officials said.

Marshall was processed at the New York State Police barracks in Bath and transported to the Steuben County jail. The date of Marshall’s next court appearance was not immediately available.

State Police said the investigation originated with a referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

On July 3, 2023, state police executed a search warrant at 8154 county Route 77 in the town of Pulteney. During the search, investigators seized numerous electronic devices for forensic examination by the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit, state police said.

The case was handled by the Bath-based state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Troop E Computer Crimes Unit, the Troop E Forensic Investigation Unit, and uniformed troopers from Bath and Wayland.
