See it: Giants legend Eli Manning narrates King of New York hype video

Just over a month ago, the New York Knicks ended the city’s sports championship drought behind the leadership of point guard Jalen Brunson.

Brunson and the Knicks were brilliant throughout the postseason and eventually achieved the ultimate goal, delivering New York its first “big four” championship since the 2011-2012 Giants.

The buzz surrounding the Knicks has not faded since their title win. In fact, it seems that every week brings new information or another video about the team’s historic run.

This past weekend, a new video dropped that was narrated by none other than two-time Super Bowl MVP and New York Giants legend Eli Manning.

Manning remains an icon in New York after winning two Super Bowls for Big Blue in four years. He has also become a dedicated fan presence, frequently attending local hockey games to support both the New Jersey Devils and the New York Rangers with his family. Manning was also courtside for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, where he sat alongside New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter.

Coincidentally, Jeter is mentioned in the video as well. In it, Manning describes Brunson as the newest King of New York.

The postseason clutch gene is something both Manning and Brunson share in their legacies, although Brunson is still building his with a career very much ongoing. Ironically enough, Brunson is a huge fan of the Giants’ archrivals, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nevertheless, Brunson delivered a Knicks championship to a city that had not seen its team win in more than 50 years. For that, the title of “King of New York” is certainly a fitting one.
