The Section 9 high school football schedules have been announced.
Action will begin on Friday, September 5, and will conclude in November.
Beacon has moved up from Class B to Class A, making the latter a pair of five-school split divisions instead of one division in 2024.
Class A school Monticello will compete as an independent. F.D. Roosevelt, which was independent in 2024, is a full-fledged Class A Division I team in 2025.
Former Class B schools Highland and Spackenkill have dropped down to Class C, making the latter a five-team circuit (with Dover, O’Neill and Chester). Class B is now a seven-team circuit.
Fallsburg returns to action, slated into Division I of the Eight-man league.
Noteworthy contests:
The regular-season schedule features a handful of Thursday night varsity contests: New Paltz at Beacon and Red Hook at Spackenkill on Sept. 11; Wallkill at Valley Central and Monticello at Spackenkill on Sept. 18; Valley Central at Monroe-Woodbury on Sept. 25; Millbrook at Pine Plains on Oct. 9; Pawling at Millbrook on Oct. 16; and, Eldred at Fallsburg on Oct. 23. The rest of action will be held on Friday nights and Saturdays.
A notable addition is Cairo-Durham and Taconic Hills of Section 2 (Albany region) being added to many Section 9 Eight-man non-league schedules.
The New York State semifinals will be held Nov. 28-29, and the finals from Dec. 5-7.
