The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its search of Canandaigua Lake for a man who went missing while swimming Sunday evening.
51-year-old swimmer missing on Canandaigua Lake
Patrick J. Colacino, 51, jumped from a boat into Canandaigua Lake to go swimming but never resurfaced, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 8:41 p.m. Sunday to the area of 4108 State Route 364 after receiving a report of a missing swimmer.
Passengers on the boat told deputies that Colacino had been swimming for about five minutes before they lost sight of him.
Search efforts continue
Sheriff’s office crews searched the lake using multiple boats equipped with sonar and deployed a drone in an effort to locate Colacino, but he was not found.
The search is expected to continue Monday morning and will remain active until Colacino is located, the sheriff’s office said.
