Remember When: Dam Site Inn in Valhalla was destroyed by fire in 1980

Valhalla firefighters battled a blaze that destroyed the Dam Site Inn on North Kensico Avenue and West Lake Drive at the top of the Kensico Dam in Valhalla on June 29, 1980.

Kensico Dam has a slew of events happening every week this summer, offering plenty of fun for everyone at the Westchester-owned park, located at 1 Bronx River Parkway, Valhalla.

As well, every summer Westchester County holds weekly cultural festivals that highlight the diversity of the Westchester community, complete with live entertainment, food and more. Most of the festivals are hosted at Kensico Dam Plaza (the Irish-American and Arab-American fests are hosted at Ridge Road Park in Hartsdale. See the county website for details.)
