With the demise of independent football in Section V, Dansville/Way-Co is back in classification for 2026. The team, which finished .500 last season, will compete in the Livingston County league and faces some traditional powers in its eight-game schedule.
Junior running back Ethan Bauer should key the offense. Bauer set a program record with 910 yards with eight touchdowns last season as a sophomore, despite missing time with injury. He’s currently being recruited by RPI, University of Rochester and Alfred.

Marquee matchups for Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton
Dansville/Way-Co counts two of its matchups as rivalry games. The team travels to Livonia for the second game of the season, then wraps up the regular season slate at home against Letchworth/Perry/Warsaw. Another matchup to watch comes in late September, when DWC faces perennial Livingston County power (and recent merger) Le Roy/Cal-Mum.
