Certain fruit puree pouches that were at Target and other stores are being voluntarily recalled because an internal packaging defect may result in a plastic strand in the finished product.
PT Organics Limited’s announcement, on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website, said the nationwide recall is for its 4-ounce pouches of Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry that were sold from March 6 to July 13, during 2026, at Target, which has stores in the Lower Hudson Valley. The puree pouches were also sold at Kroger and Meijer grocery stores, none of which are in the area.
Target store locations include Mount Kisco, Mount Vernon, Port Chester, Spring Valley, West Nyack, White Plains, and Yonkers.

The affected pouches have the following codes stamped in black ink on the back, the notice said:

PT Organics Limited said it encourages consumers/caregivers to check products against the barcode, lane number and best-before-dates. Those who have the recalled product should throw it away or return it to where they bought it. Do not eat it or feed it to anyone.
No injuries have been reported, according to the notice.
No other Pumpkin Tree branded products, best-before-dates, or flavors are affected by the recall.
PT Organics Limited said it initiated the voluntary recall after its packaging supplier recalled a production run of defective pouches. PT Organics’ inspections of finished product made with the recalled packaging found “presence of a strand of a soft, food-grade plastic attached to the inside of a small number of pouches,” the notice on the FDA website said.
