New York Giants' Malik Nabers exits camp practice with apparent shoulder injury

The New York Giants got a significant injury scare on Tuesday morning during practice at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center when superstar wide receiver Malik Nabers went down and stayed down for a moment.

Nabers appeared to get caught up in a pile while attempting to run block, and hit the grass. He lay on the field for roughly 10 seconds before getting up and walking off under his own power, albeit seemingly in pain.

Head trainer Ronnie Barnes was quick to examine Nabers, whom he subsequently ushered into the building.

When Barnes emerged to address general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll, Nabers was not in tow.

Nabers appeared to be favoring his shoulder as he initially left the field, and Barnes seemed to relay similar information to the coaching staff after he returned from inside the building.

The 22-year-old Nabers, who has been stellar throughout training camp thus far, is also battling a lingering toe injury that dates back to his time in college.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo report that Nabers will have his shoulder checked out but “appears okay.”

In addition to Nabers, defensive lineman D.J. Davidson also left the field with an apparent leg injury.
