New York Giants LB Micah McFadden suffers leg injury vs. Commanders

Editor’s note: Micah McFadden was sent for X-rays, which came back negative.

New York Giants inside linebacker Micah McFadden was carted off the field in the first quarter of the team’s season opener on Sunday against the Washington Commanders.

The fourth-year player out of Indiana suffered a leg injury that needed to be placed in an aircast.

Replays showed McFadden’s right ankle buckle under him as he attempted to stop Commanders’ running back Austin Ekeler in the red zone.

McFadden was replaced in the lineup by Darius Muasau, who promptly surrendered a seven-yard touchdown to Commanders tight end Zach Ertz.

The Giants later ruled McFadden out for the game with a leg/foot injury.
