Hamtramck brewery Florian East is bringing its unique story to the national stage. The independent brewery and taphouse is a finalist in the Samuel Adams Brewing & Business Experienceship.
Florian East is one of six businesses chosen from a pool of applicants from all over the country. They have a chance to share their products and their story at an event in Brooklyn later this spring with the other finalists.
Florian East opened Labor Day weekend 2024, becoming what is likely Hamtramck’s first brewery to open in 80 years. The name “Florian East” is on the front of the building, not only written in English, but also in Arabic, Bangla, Chinese, Chaldean, Polish and Ukrainian.
The Hamtramck microbrewery will join five other independent beer makers from across the United States at an event on June 11 at the Dumbo Loft & Terrace in Brooklyn, New York. The finalists will get to showcase their stuff at the event, and attendees will vote.
The winning brewery will have the chance to visit the Samuel Adams Boston Brewery and work side by side with a team of experts and mentors. They also get to collaborate on a specialty beer with Sam Adams.
