New Cloudbound children's play place to open in New Rochelle. See first-in-nation plans

NEW ROCHELLE— A first-in-the-nation new indoor play place for young children will soon open at Nardozzi Place, offering families a place to gather, play and connect.

Cloudbound, a new brand developed by Sky Zone, will feature a space that combines the experience of a children’s museum and playground, along with a cafe and party space for children from infancy through age six. It will be among the first locations of the brand to launch in the U.S.

The play space, located at 80 Nardozzi Place in New Rochelle, will occupy and renovate the former 19,197-square-foot Ashley Furniture store, with plans to open this winter.

Caitlin Shufelt, vice president of Cloudbound, said the new location was inspired by the needs of young families and is designed to serve as a hub for connection, development and support.

“We’re thrilled to join the vibrant New Rochelle community, where so many families are putting down roots,” Shufelt said in a statement. “With nearly a third of households raising children, it’s clear there’s a growing need for spaces that support both kids and their caregivers.”

What will Cloudboud offer in NY?

Cloudbound will feature open-ended play environments for children ages 0-6 to explore and discover. Plans include transforming the former furniture store into a children’s museum and playground, along with a cafe and party rooms.

Shufelt said while the market currently offers mom-and-me programs for babies and gyms for toddlers, few spaces provide a full experience for the little kid age group.

“Cloudbound was designed to fill that gap — not just as a place to play, but as a hub for connection, development and everyday support,” Shufelt said. “We’re proud to bring our expert-backed environment to Westchester and look forward to becoming part of the fabric of family life here.”

A new brand from the creator of Sky Zone

Cloudbound was developed by Sky Zone, a popular operator of more than 300 trampoline parks across the U.S. and Canada, including four in the Lower Hudson Valley — Mount Kisco, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Spring Valley — with another Yonkers location coming soon.

Founded in 2004, Sky Zone has expanded rapidly, reporting 800,000 members and more than 45 million visitors annually.

The New Rochelle location will be among the first two Cloudbound sites to open, alongside Washington D.C. this winter. The brand plans to expand nationally through both corporate-owned and franchised locations.
