Brooklyn Nets forward Noah Clowney is coming off the best season of his career as he continued to improve his game despite the Nets enduring another losing season amidst the rebuild. Brooklyn saw Clowney turn into more of an offensive threat thanks to his adding another facet to his game and the fans noticed that he was one of the players that deserves more attention.
“Noah Clowney’s victory is well-deserved. He provides a ton of offensive dynamism when the triples are falling. Winning with just 26 percent of the vote is also a nod to Brooklyn’s bread of other options,” Dan Favale wrote for Bleacher Report when recapping the results of the fan vote. Nets fans voted on various topics related to the team and 26% of them thought Clowney was the most underrated player on the roster this season.

Clowney, 21, finished the 2025-26 season with averages of 12.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 39.6% from the field and 32.9% from behind the three-point line. While Clowney’s shooting percentages have been down significantly when compared to his rookie season, he has shown consistent improvement along the way, including his ability to draw fouls at a higher rate.
This season, Clowney not only doubled his amount of free-throw attempts per game (3.4 compared to 1.7 in the 2024-25 season), but he also made (180) and attempted (224) more free-throws than he did in his first two years in the league combined. Clowney is eligible for a rookie-scale extension this offseason so it will be interesting to see how much general manager Sean Marks wants to invest in Clowney after his three seasons in the NBA.
Clowney came into the league as someone who scouts projected could be a power forward that could stretch the floor with his shooting while also providing some upside as a rim-protector thanks to his wingspan. Clowney, the 21st overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, has shown the makings of being that kind of player at some point, but until then, the fans want him to be recognized for how well he played this past season.
