Part of a Mount Vernon city parking garage on Sydney and Gramatan avenues is closed temporarily because of public safety concerns.
City of Mount Vernon spokesperson Tim Allen said in a press release Tuesday, March 3, the majority of the facility, referred to as Lot 8, would be closed until further notice “out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of public safety.”
A hole in the top deck of the garage developed earlier in the year, which had been temporarily covered with a metal plate as of March 3.
It was unclear when the garage would be repaired.
