Motorcyclist killed in head-on crash on Route 63 in Genesee County

A motorcyclist was killed Monday night in a head-on collision on Route 63 in the town of Bethany, Genesee County.

According to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, a 27-year-old Buffalo man was driving a sport utility vehicle north on Route 63 shortly after 10 p.m. when he attempted to pass two northbound tractor-trailers and a farm tractor. While passing, the SUV struck a southbound motorcycle head-on.

The motorcyclist, identified as Ryan A. Farley, 40, of Hemlock in Livingston County, was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

The SUV driver was taken to United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia for observation.

The crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending, authorities said.
