Missing Tioga County man found dead near his residence

A Tioga County man who was reported missing has been found dead near his residence in the Town of Tioga.

Lance O. Bogart, 47, was first reported missing on April 28, and his body was located two days later in a creek near his residence on April 30, according to New York State Police.

Bogart was last seen on April 26 after entering a wooded area behind a residence on Halsey Valley Road in the Town of Tioga.

Police conducted search efforts with K9 units, Unmanned Aerial Systems and assistance from partner agencies, including the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers.

The investigation is ongoing. State police report that there is no indication of criminal activity at this time and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
