Miles Davis, Michael Jackson among Giants rookie minicamp tryouts

The New York Giants are giving two undrafted rookie free agents with legendary names a shot to make the roster at rookie minicamp, though a tryout carries no guarantee of a contract.

Running back Miles Davis, a 5-foot-11, 215-pound senior out of Utah State, arrives after a standout final season in which he rushed for 731 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 201 receiving yards and three scores. The Las Vegas native compiled more than 1,200 career rushing yards across stops at BYU and Utah State, earning second-team All-Mountain West honors.

Wide receiver Michael Jackson III, a 6-foot, 205-pound senior from Purdue, led the Boilermakers with 63 receptions for 570 yards in 2025 and handled return duties effectively. The Las Vegas product previously played at USC and Georgia, showcasing reliable hands and big-play ability throughout his college career.

While sharing monikers with jazz icon Miles Davis and pop legend Michael Jackson invites inevitable headlines, these gridiron namesakes hope to trumpet their talents and moonwalk their way onto the final roster.

The Giants will evaluate both players alongside the rest of the rookie class before final decisions in East Rutherford.
