Casa Mezcal Flavors of Mexico will soon open a new location at 41 Shethar St. in Hammondsport, the building that formerly housed Burgers & Beers of Hammondsport.
Fernando Reyes, owner of Casa Mezcal, which also boasts operations in Bath, Painted Post and Penn Yan, said the Hammondsport Nacion Flavors of Mexico will open in late September or the first week of October.

“We are working on the building, getting all the equipment in order,” Reyes said. “We recently received a liquor license. Unfortunately we didn’t get a full license because the location is too close to a church.”
Reyes and the staff are working on the menu at Nacion Flavors of Mexico to create other types of margaritas and other alcohol-based drinks.
“We will offer margaritas that will include wine tequila instead of Gava tequila, and will offer several types of wines and beers,” Reyes said. “We are still going to have cocktails; they are just going to be made with Saki and wines. We are going to make sure people are walking away happy.”
Reyes said Casa Mezcal is happy to be opening a location in the historic Village of Hammondsport, off the southern tip of Keuka Lake.
“We really appreciate the support that has been given to us at this location,” Reyes said. “We really can’t wait to open.”
The restaurant’s menu will feature a variety of lunch and dinner options, including fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, burritos, quesadillas, pollo, soups, salads, dips and more, as well as a cocktail menu.
Reyes said operations will remain unchanged at the restaurants in Bath at 7500 state Route 54, in Painted Post at 304 S. Hamilton St., and in Penn Yan at 104 Liberty St. The Painted Post location opened in October 2024.
The Hammondsport restaurant will be open daily from 11 a.m. to at least 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, it is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and until 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. All the other Casa Mezcal location are open the same hours.
“We will not be closing in the winter like some other area restaurant do,” Reyes said. “We will be open every day of the week.”
