An Ulster County man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 890 in Schenectady on Tuesday morning.
One-car crash on I-890
Miguel Alejandro Mendoza Canarte, 29, of Shandaken, was driving west on I-890 near the Exit 6 off-ramp around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday when his vehicle left the roadway, according to New York State Police.
The vehicle struck an earth embankment and a support pole for an overhead highway sign.
Driver dies at hospital
Canarte was alone in the vehicle and was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to State Police.
Investigation continues
State Police said the investigation remains ongoing. No additional information was immediately available.
Schenectady is about 20 miles northwest of Albany in eastern New York.
