The Binghamton area has a variety of local parks and businesses offering deals throughout the summer months, with discounts for kids, teachers, first responders and veterans.
Here’s when local attractions are offering discounted pricing this season.
Animal Adventure Park
Hero Appreciation Days: July 25-27 police, fire, medics, dispatchers, doctors, nurses and military get in free. Badge or valid employee ID is required.
School System Appreciation Days: Aug. 23-24 all pre-K through 12th grade teachers and school system support staff get in free. Valid school badge, pay stub or other proof of employment is required.
Where: 85 Martin Hill Road, Harpursville.
The Discovery Center of the Southern Tier
Free admission nights: On the first Friday of each month, The Discovery Center offers free admission from 4-7 p.m.
Where: 60 Morgan Road, Binghamton.
Skate Estate
Half-priced nights: From 5-8 p.m. on Thursdays, enjoy half-priced skating.
Where: 3401 Vestal Road, Vestal.
Binghamton Rumble Ponies
Kids Eat Free Sunday: Every Sunday throughout the season, children 12 and under with a ticket to the game receive a voucher for one hot dog and a soda.
Where: Mirabito Stadium, 211 Henry St., Binghamton.
Roberson Museum
The Roberson Museum offers half-priced admission on the first Friday of every month. General admission tickets are discounted to $4 and include a planetarium show. In July, half-priced tickets will be offered on July 11 due to the Fourth of July holiday.
Where: 30 Front St., Binghamton.
Phelps Mansion Museum
The Phelps Mansion is offering $2 off admission for Broome County residents through Aug. 31. The museum also offers free admission for anyone with a SNAP/EBT card.
From noon to 4 p.m. on July 26, the museum is holding an open house with free admission.
Where: 191 Court St., Binghamton.
New York State Fair
The New York State Fair, which runs from Aug. 20 to Sep. 1, has a variety of free admission days.
Student Youth Day: On Aug. 21, children ages 18 and under get free admission into the fair.
Law Enforcement Day: On Aug. 25, any active or retired law enforcement or corrections person gets free admission into the fair. Badge or picture ID is required.
State Parks Day: On Aug. 25, any person with an Empire Pass, Liberty Pass or Access New York State Park Pass gets free admission into the fair.
Fire, Rescue and EMS Day: On Aug. 26, any active or retired member of a fire department, emergency services, or EMS organization gets free admission into the fair. Picture ID from the department or organization is required.
Armed Forces Day: On Aug. 28, active duty military members or veterans get free admission into the fair. Military ID is required.
Native American Day: On Aug. 29, any member of a Native American tribe gets free admission into the fair.
