Jets provide update on kicker battle early in 2026 offseason

The New York Jets have an update to note regarding the kicker position battle the team will have during the 2026 NFL offseason.

The competition is down to just Younghoe Koo and Cade York.

The team announced a slew of depth roster moves on Monday. Included in that was the release of kicker Lenny Krieg:

Krieg, 23, signed a futures deal with the Jets in January.

An International Pathway Program en route to the NFL, Krieg struggled during kicks last week during the start of spring practices. Meanwhile, Koo did not miss an attempt that was recorded by the media.

As of last week, York had still been battling a groin injury. He did not take part in OTAs.

Both Koo and York have more NFL experience than Krieg.

Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2026 offseason.
