It’s the final days of the holiday season as everyone prepares to close out 2025 and begin 2026 fresh.
The New Year’s holiday might provide some time off to go shopping, or perhaps there is a last-minute store run for forgotten ingredients for a holiday party.
Some of the markets in the area will have reduced hours on New Year’s Eve, with a few closed on New Year’s Day.
Here are the holiday hours for some of the major storefronts in Ithaca.
Wegmans holiday hours
Wegmans stores will close at 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve and reopen at 6 a.m. New Year’s Day.
Walmart holiday hours
Walmart stores will be open during their regular hours (which vary by location) on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. For more, go to walmart.com/store-directory/ny.
Trader Joe’s holiday hours
Trader Joe’s will be open until 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and closed on New Year’s Day.
BJ’s holiday hours
BJ’s Wholesale Club will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. New Year’s Eve and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. New Year’s Day.
Target holiday hours
Target will be open until 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve and regular hours from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on New Year’s Day.
Tops holiday hours
Tops stores will close at 9 p.m. New Year’s Eve and reopen at 6 a.m. New Year’s Day (unless they normally open at 7 a.m.).
Dollar General holiday hours
Most Dollar General stores will be open for regular or slightly reduced hours. Call your local Dollar General location to confirm store hours for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Drug store holiday hours
CVS locations will be open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, although some stores may have reduced hours. CVS recommends that people call their local stores before visiting or check hours at CVS.com.
Walgreens stores will be open on New Year’s Day, although pharmacy hours may vary. Customers can check the store locator or the Walgreens app for the most up-to-date store and pharmacy hours.
