A 20-year-old from Hyde Park has died after the car he was driving struck a tree.
On May 5, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reported the investigation of a May 3 crash in the Town of Hyde Park which resulted in the death of Austin Caston.
Caston was the sole occupant operating a 2009 Pontiac G6 driving southbound on N Quaker Lane near Forest Drive around 9 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle.
The car left the roadway, striking a tree.
Caston was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation will be continued by members of its detective bureau and crash investigation unit.
