Westchester has passes for county parks — what’s involved, what are the benefits and how much do they cost?
People receive a credit card-sized pass and a smaller card for a key chain. Valid, previously designed park passes are honored but should be replaced when they expire.
When scanned at county park entrances, the passholder’s photo will appear on screen, along with account number, according to the county government website.
How much do Westchester County park passes cost?
Several types of passes are available at different price points.
The adult pass costs $90 and is valid for three years, according to the county’s website. Passholders can bring up to five guests to pools or beaches where county residency is required.
Children and those ages 12 to 17 can also get a pass, which is $90 and valid for three years. Proof of age with a school-issued I.D. and guardian’s proof of residency are required. Children need to be at least 14 years old to enter a beach or pool without a parent or guardian.
The family pass lets two adults and those ages 12 to 17 living in the same household get their own passes for a single $180 fee. All family members must be present at time of purchase and provide Westchester residency proof with a family mailing address. The pass is valid for three years from issuing date.
Other passes for senior citizens, people with disabilities, disabled veterans, military and clergy are available at different rates. For the full list, go to the county’s website: bit.ly/3y9AWR8.
