Hot and humid weather forecast for New York this week

Heat and humidity will steadily build across Western and Central New York this week, with temperatures expected to climb into the upper 80s and low 90s by midweek, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

Monday will bring seasonable conditions, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s across the region, including around 82 degrees in Rochester. Most areas are expected to remain dry.

By midweek, conditions will become noticeably hotter and more humid. High temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 80s and low 90s in communities including Rochester, Geneseo and Canandaigua.

The hot, humid pattern is expected to continue through the Fourth of July holiday weekend, with warm overnight temperatures providing little relief.

What to expect this week

Monday: Seasonable, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. Most areas will remain dry.

Tuesday: Warmer with increasing humidity.

Midweek: Hot and humid, with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s across much of Western and Central New York.

Fourth of July weekend: Continued hot and humid conditions, with warm nights and limited overnight cooling.
