Girls Lacrosse Player of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital

This week was highlighted by a few dramatic finishes, some upset victories and several athletes reaching milestones. An abundance of superb and significant performances resulted in us having 10 candidates for Girls Lacrosse Player of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital.

Our previous poll winners this season were Sofia Conners (Somers), Fin Degl (John Jay-Cross River), Emily Butler (Tappan Zee), Amelia Walsh (Brewster) and Olivia Saccomanno (Brewster).

Read below about what the nominees accomplished last week, then cast your votes. The poll will be open until 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 6 and the winner will be featured on lohud sports social media accounts.

Cat DeAngelis, Ursuline

She had six goals and three assists to lead the Koalas in a stunning 13-8 upset of Yorktown on Saturday.

Emma Donaldson, Somers

The junior goalkeeper made 12 saves in the Tuskers’ 8-6 upset of Horace Greeley last Monday. She also recorded the 500th save of her career against White Plains.

Ava Gitler, Byram Hills

She had nine goals and four assists to lead the Bobcats in a wild 24-20 win over Haldane. She also had three goals and three assists in a close loss to Nanuet.

Ashley Koch, Mahopac

The UMass-bound senior totaled 10 goals and two assists while leading the Wolf Pac to two wins last week and eclipsed 200 career points against Brewster. Koch now is the program’s second all-time leading scorer.

Parker Koupal, Pelham

The senior had five goals and an assist in the Pelicans’ rout of Minisink Valley on Saturday, and she scored four goals in their win over Edgemont earlier in the week.

Lauren Rogers, White Plains

The goalkeeper made 11 saves, including stops of two consecutive close-range shots in overtime, helping the Tigers pull out an eventual 9-8 win over Somers last Friday. Rogers had a .591 save percentage in three games last week and the junior made 14 saves against Brewster, including the 300th of her career.

Sydney Sateriale, Yorktown

The sophomore had seven goals, two assists, three groundballs and six draw controls for the Huskers in a 19-7 win over Connecticut’s Ridgefield. She also scored four goals, including the 100th of her career, against Ursuline.

Kiera Sena, Ossining

She ran up 10 goals, four assists, five caused turnovers and 14 groundballs in the Pride’s three games last week. She also set a program record with 21 draw controls in their 12-11 win over Clarkstown North.

Paige Tepedino, Rye

The senior made her long-awaited return from a torn ACL last week and helped the Garnets earn two dominant wins. Tepedino scored four goals, forced a turnover and collected a groundball in their 16-3 win over Connecticut’s New Canaan on Saturday. The USC commit had a goal, two caused turnovers, three groundballs and two draw controls against Briarcliff in her season debut.

Noemi Torres, North Salem

The Ithaca commit totaled 13 goals, two assists and three caused turnovers last week while leading the Tigers to wins over Croton-Harmon, Blind Brook and Putnam Valley. Torres also surpassed 100 career goals.
