New York Giants coach John Harbaugh has cleared the air about Roy Robertson-Harris’ injury status.
Harbaugh stated at OTAs on Wednesday that the Giants have not placed Robertson-Harris on injured reserve (IR) due to the possibility that he could return from his Achilles tear at the end of the 2026 season.
“There’s a chance Roy could get back, actually. With Roy’s situation, time frame-wise, there’s a chance he could get back late in the season. We’re going to try to hold off on that if we can,” he said.
Robertson-Harris suffered the Achilles injury at the Giants’ OTA practice on May 21. The veteran defensive tackle was expected to be the starter for New York once again in 2026 after starting in all 17 games last season.
Robertson-Harris’ injury came after the Giants traded star defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals on April 19. The Giants signed multiple veteran defensive tackles earlier this spring, including D.J. Reader and Shelby Harris, to add depth at the position.
The 32-year-old Robertson-Harris recorded six quarterback hits, three tackles for loss, and one pass defended in his first season with the Giants in 2025.
