Who will be the lohud Flag Football Player of the Week, presented by White Plains Hospital? It’s time to look at the standouts from May 11-17, our first week of postseason play.

Let’s meet the candidates.

Amelia Amenedo, Byram Hills

The freshman scored rushing touchdowns of 36 and 15 yards, had two interceptions and executed seven flag pulls in Byram Hills’ 14-6 Section 1 Class C quarterfinal win over Hendrick Hudson on May 16.

Myriam Areche, Yonkers

The junior had a touchdown and an interception in Yonkers’ 13-0 win over New Rochelle in a Section 1 Class A quarterfinal on May 16, Yonkers’ first postseason win in history.

Blaze Connolly, Putnam Valley

The sophomore had 15 flag pulls, two interceptions and a pick-six in Putnam Valley’s 18-13 win over Woodlands in a Section 1 Class C quarterfinal on May 16.

Juliana DiMarino, Westlake/Briarcliff

The sophomore had four rushing touchdowns off 10 carries and 187 yards and was 9 for 14 passing for 90 yards and a touchdown in Westlake’s 42-0 win over Ardsley in a Section 1 Class C quarterfinal on May 16.

Niamh Kelleher, Mahopac

The senior, over two playoff games, had 235 receiving yards, a touchdown, seven flag pulls and two interceptions, including a pick-six. Mahopac defeated Fox Lane, 19-7, in a Section 1 Class B quarterfinal on May 16.

Samira Phillips, Dobbs Ferry

The senior had four catches for 29 yards and a touchdown, as well as three flag pulls and an interception in Dobbs Ferry’s 13-6 win over Bronxville in a Section 1 Class C quarterfinal on May 16.

Maddy Reilly, Yorktown

The senior rushed for 50 yards with a touchdown and had 11 receiving yards in Yorktown’s 22-0 win over Somers in a Section 1 Class B quarterfinal on May 16.

Sofia Rosamilia, Brewster

Over two games in the last week, the senior had five touchdown passes and four rushing touchdowns. She passed for 322 yards and rushed for 64 yards. Brewster defeated Lakeland 24-0 in a Section 1 Class B quarterfinal on May 16.

Lily Rosenthal, Fox Lane

The senior had 10 catches for 150 yards and four touchdowns in two games over the last week. She also had an interception.

Sarah Sherman, Mamaroneck

The senior had eight flag pulls and three sacks, as well as three catches for 60 yards in Mamaroneck’s 20-6 win over North Rockland in a Section 1 Class A quarterfinal on May 16.

Nina Vasquez, Tappan Zee

The senior had six receptions for 150 yards and a touchdown in Tappan Zee’s 33-0 win over Horace Greeley in a Section 1 Class B quarterfinal on May 16.
