The city of Corning will hold a series of free open swimming opportunities starting this week at the Corning-Painted Post High School.
Alex Hamilton, Corning City Recreation Director, said open swims will take place from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, Thursday, Aug. 13 and Tuesday, Aug. 18.
“I would like to thank the Corning-Painted Post School District for allowing the City of Corning this opportunity to utilize the High School pool to offer the community a few swimming opportunities this summer season,” Hamilton said.
The sessions will be open to all community members, Hamilton said. Children ages 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Individuals wishing to attend these swims should report to the Corning-Painted Post High School pool entrance located off Cantigney Street, Hamilton said. No fee will be charged for the open swimming.
