The wait for a Chick-fil-A in Dutchess and Orange counties may soon be over.
Currently, some of the closest locations of the fast food chain are in Plattekill in Ulster County, Sloatsburg in Rockland County, or across the border in Danbury and Brookfield, Connecticut.
But two new locations are in the works in the towns of Fishkill and Wallkill.
The Town of Fishkill’s potential Chick-fil-A would be at 18 Westage Drive, in the Walmart plaza. During the town’s June 12 planning board meeting, the board reviewed a site development plan application on the chicken chain from May 28 and is in the approval process.
The Town of Wallkill’s Chick-fil-A proposal, according to the planning board decision sheet from June 18, would bring the eatery to 400 state Route 211, at the former site of Boston Market. A public hearing about the Chick-fil-A is scheduled for Aug. 20.
