Chance of showers, thunderstorms through the first weekend of June

The National Weather Service says the mid-Hudson Valley can expect a chance of showers or thunderstorms throughout the first weekend of June.

June 6 will be mostly sunny in Orange County and partly sunny in Dutchess, Sullivan and Ulster counties. High temperatures will be in the mid-90s in Dutchess County, the low 90s in Orange and Ulster counties and the mid-80s in Sullivan County.

There is a 50% chance of showers or thunderstorms after 2 p.m. in Sullivan County, and a 30% chance of showers or thunderstorms after 2 p.m. in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties.

There will also be southwest winds ranging from 5 to 13 mph across the four counties, with wind gusts in excess of 20 mph possible.

The night of June 6 will be mostly cloudy, with low temperatures in the mid-60s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and right around 60 in Sullivan County.

There is a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms in Sullivan County, a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms in Dutchess and Ulster counties and a 40% chance of only showers in Orange County during the night.

June 7 will be partly sunny in all four counties, with high temperatures in the mid-80s in Dutchess, Orange and Ulster counties, and right around 80 in Sullivan County.

However, rain could enter the picture again during the day. There is a 70% chance of showers in Dutchess and Ulster counties, a 60% chance of showers in Orange County and a 50% chance of showers in Sullivan County. A thunderstorm is possible after 2 p.m. in all four counties.

The night of June 7 will be partly cloudy in all four counties, with lows in the upper 50s in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties and the mid-50s in Sullivan County.

There is a 60% chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 8 p.m. in Orange, Dutchess and Ulster counties, and a 30% chance of the same in Sullivan County.
