Buffalo Bills training camp schedule includes fewer practices at St. John Fisher

The Buffalo Bills are returning to St. John Fisher University for a milestone training camp.

It just won’t last quite as long.

The Bills announced their 2026 training camp schedule Tuesday with seven open practices at St. John Fisher. That’s down from 11 practices held at the Pittsford campus during the 2025 training camp, and 11 practices in 2024.

Buffalo will open training camp Wednesday, July 29 and hold its final open practice at Fisher on Friday, Aug. 7. All seven practices are scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.

The shorter schedule comes during a notable summer for the Bills and their longtime Rochester training camp home.

The 2026 season marks the 25th time the Bills will hold training camp at St. John Fisher. The team also signed a three-year extension with the university in October to keep camp in Pittsford through 2028.

General manager Brandon Beane said at the time that the Bills still value leaving Orchard Park for training camp, even as fewer NFL teams travel away from their own facilities.

“We really enjoy the setup there. We think it’s important to our team,” Beane said. “Even though it’s a dying breed of teams that like to go away, and we love our facilities here, we feel it provides such an important element of team chemistry, bonding, a real focus for everyone for how to prepare our team for a long season.”

The Bills first moved training camp to St. John Fisher in 2000 and have returned every year except 2020 and 2021 when teams adjusted because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Buffalo’s partnership with Fisher has become one of the longest-running off-site training camp traditions in the NFL.

“We could not be more excited to continue this long-standing partnership,” Bills Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Pete Guelli said when the extension was announced. “St. John Fisher University has been an amazing host to our organization and the perfect location for our fans to engage with the team. Rochester will always be an important part of Bills Mafia.”

Tickets are still expected to be in high demand. Fans can enter a public ticket lottery that opens from June 24-26. Fans selected through the lottery will be notified by the Bills and must accept their tickets through Ticketmaster within 72 hours.

The Bills’ annual Return of the Blue & Red practice will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8 in the first event at the team’s new Highmark Stadium.
