Chenango Forks senior Lucas Bartlow has been named Co-Player of the Year in Class D as part of the New York State Sports Writers all-state boys lacrosse team for the 2025 spring season.
Bartlow, a Syracuse University commit, shared the honor with Penn Yan senior attack Teagan Fingar after helping the Blue Devils advance to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D title game. Penn Yan beat Forks, 11-8.
Two other Forks players were named first-team all-state in Class D: senior attack Brody Polacek and junior defender Liam Spalik.
The other first-team boys from Section 4 was Binghamton Seton Catholic Central senior attack Rory Callahan in Class D.
Those four were among 29 boys all-state selections from Section 4 across four classifications.
Ithaca’s Thomforde, Forks’ Spalik first-team girls all-state
Among the girls all-state picks from the New York State Sports Writers Association were first-team selections Ella Thomforde of Ithaca and Riley Spalik of Chenango Forks, both seniors.
Thomforde, a Stanford University commit, was chosen in Class A after leading the Little Red to the state semifinals.
Spalik, a George Washington commit, was a first-team Class D selection at defender.
They were among 28 girls from Section 4 to be named all-state or receive honorable mention.
