Binghamton invites community to apply for Clinton Street DRI funding. How to apply

Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham is inviting the community to submit project proposals for the city’s Clinton Street Downtown Revitalization Initiative.

In a July 1 press release, Kraham announced the launch of the funding application process, which encourages “local businesses, property owners, non-profit leaders and community groups” to apply for funding through Binghamton’s $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative Award.

“The Clinton Street corridor is a vital gateway into the City and a key piece of Binghamton’s future. With this DRI funding, we have an opportunity to spark new investment, support small businesses and build on the momentum already underway in the neighborhood,” Kraham said. “We’re calling on the community to bring forward proposals for projects that will help shape the next chapter for Clinton Street.”

The city formed a local planning committee made up of residents, small business owners, community leaders and government officials, which is now calling for project proposals from the community “to be included in the Clinton Street DRI Strategic Investment Plan.”

The LPC will identify “catalytic projects to spur revitalization,” the city said, such as “building renovations, new construction, historic preservation, business expansion support and other capital projects.”

What is Binghamton’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative?
