A 32-year-old City of Poughkeepsie man has been charged with two counts of third-degree rape, as well as two other charges, by the city’s police department in a case involving the sexual assault of a minor.
According to City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Detective Lieutenant Sean McCarthy, members of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Detective Bureau, with the assistance of the Poughkeepsie Joint SWAT Team and the Gun Involved Violence Elimination, executed a search warrant at 173 Union St., Apartment 1, at around 3 p.m. on June 24.
As a result of the investigation, Ericq Pesante was arrested and charged with three felonies: first-degree dissemination of indecent material to a minor, criminal possession of a firearm and two counts of third-degree rape.
Pesante is currently being held pending arraignment.
