Professional bowling returns to Rochester with dozens of women from around the world hoping to get a piece of the more than $176,000 in prize money during the PWBA Summer Series – Rochester, May 26-June 1.
ABC Gates Bowl, 645 Spencerport Road, Gates, hosts the Professional Women’s Bowling Association Tour with three tournaments of up to 91 bowlers. Among the entrants are Sarah Gerken and Heather Sterner of Rochester, and Natalie Kent of Newark:

Gerken was the 2017 All-Greater Rochester Girls Bowler of the Year at Hilton and went on to bowl at Roberts Wesleyan University. Sterner is the head women’s bowling coach at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Kent is a junior on Vanderbilt University’s women’s bowling team who helped the Commodores win an NCAA bowling regional in Rochester in April.
Sterner and Kent are listed as entrants in all three tournaments. Gerken is listed as an entrant in the PWBA Rochester Open and the Lilac City Open.
ABC Gates Bowl hosted PWBA Tour Championship Week to close the 2025 season.
