Where to watch Iowa basketball vs. Clemson today in March Madness

After a two-season absence, Iowa basketball is back in the NCAA Tournament.

In its first season under head coach Ben McCollum, Iowa (21-12, 10-10 Big Ten) earned a No. 9 seed in the South Region, where the Hawkeyes meet No. 8 seed Clemson (24-10, 12-6 ACC) at Benchmark International Arena in Tampa, Fla.

Iowa is making its 30th NCAA Tournament appearance all-time and carries a 31-31 all-time mark into this year’s Big Dance.

The Hawkeyes are led by senior point guard Bennett Stirtz and senior forward Tavion Banks. Stirtz averages 20 points and 4.5 assists per game on 49.2% field goal shooting and 37.6% accuracy from beyond the arc. Banks averages 10.5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game on 53.7% field goal shooting.

All-time series: Iowa leads, 3-1

It’s the fifth all-time meeting between the two and the first meeting between the schools in the postseason. The series began in 1962. Iowa won the most recent meeting, winning 74-71 in a semifinal game at the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla., on Nov. 25, 2022. The Hawkeyes’ lone loss came in Iowa City, falling 71-55 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in 2011.
