Thousands are expected to take to the streets across the United States on June 14 to protest President Donald Trump’s administration’s policies.
Cities across the country have No Kings demonstrations scheduled for June 14, which is also the same day the Trump administration has planned amilitary parade in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the Army’s 250th anniversary, Flag Day and the president’s 79th birthday.
No Kings Day comes as protests against Trump’s immigration crackdown have been present in Iowa and across the U.S. for more than a week.

What are the No Kings Day protests in the U.S.?
Indivisible, a nonprofit coalition of political action groups, is organizing No Kings Day. Indivisible said it is organizing “to reject corrupt, authoritarian politics.”
“This country doesn’t belong to a king — and we’re not letting [Trump] throw himself a parade funded by tens of millions of our taxpayer dollars while stealing from us and stripping away our rights, our freedoms, and the programs our families rely on,” Indivisible said in a news release.
Organizers have said the protests are meant to be nonviolent and discouraged bringing weapons of any kind.

The No Kings Day event in Des Moines is at noon at the Iowa State Capitol. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend, an organizer told Axios.
What did President Donald Trump say about No Kings Day protestors?
“For those people that want to protest, they’re going to be met with very big force,” Trump said on June 10. “I haven’t even heard about a protest, but you know, this is people that hate our country, but they will be met with very heavy force.”
